Quotes SMASH

I found these great quotes on Pinterest, so I thought I would SMASH them to help me fill in a few of the remaining pages in my first book.

The left side is a quote from Carl Sagan.  I used a page from a book that was falling apart as the background then layed the quote printed on vellum over top.  A few quick embellishments like Tim Holtz film strip, a button, charm, and some ribbon finish it off.

The right side is a great quote for women of all ages.  I have no idea who it is attributed to, but love it anyway.  It is also printed on vellum and has a piece of scrap white cardstock behind it.  To the left of the page is the profile of a woman's body I hand cut and inked with Tim Holtz distress inks in Vintage Photo and Tea Dye.  I added the lips on the quote from a single stamp from Michael's dollar bin inked in Blazing Red Staz-On and the tiny clover "tattoo" in Cactus Green Staz-On from the retired SU So Happy for You.  A swirl clip and tiny silver brad finish it off.

Snowman notepads

My daughter is in middle school and wanted something small to give each of her teacher, so here it is....a notepad with snowmen on a chalkboard.  Simple but still a nice thank you for her teachers.
The base is Old Olive with patterned papers from DCWV.  The chalkboards are kraft and basic black and cut from a Tim Holtz die and the image is SU's Frosty Friends, stamped in Versamark and embossed in white powder.  I used a stardust gel pen to add some details.  Last is some tiny jingle bells and a small tag tied to a button with Cherry Cobbler baker's twine.

Wicked SMASH

Before Dorothy landed in Oz, there was Wicked!  I couldn't think of a better use for the green paint can page in my black SMASH book than this.  I found this awesome image online, then used vellum spatter with some emerald green and golden glow smooch spritz (on the back side to soften it).  Next, I made corners from two sizes of square punches, adding a bit of washi tape with gears from Tim Holtz.  I had these lovely chipboard pieces from a Basic Grey halloween set for the hat, swirl and bracket.  The clocks are cut from Tim Holtz weathered clock die.  The journalling is some of the words to "For Good" and the cricut font Doodletype.  Thanks for looking!  April
