Pablo Paper Piecing

My son loves the Backyardigans, so I decided to do a special piece for one of his LOs. (It will be in the next posting.) I found the image on Yahoo! images, then dropped it into a document to resize it. After printing, I used a pencil to trace the image on the back side to have a sort of carbon transfer, then traced the needed pieces on the selected cardstock. I used retired SU colors Brilliant Blue, Yo Yo Yellow, Bordering Blue and Barely Banana. For his propeller, I used thin satin ribbon, made a bow, then cut the tails. therapy

Yea, we not what you think! My youngest has had developmental delays in all areas, so we have spent the better part of his life in some kind of therapy - from physical/occupational to speech. Here is a LO showing two of his therapists and some of their activities.

It is inspired from a Feb 2009 pagemaps. Base is generic cardstock, printed is Recollections. The border punch is EK Success. The little boy is from The Greeting Farms' Roll Call kit. The legos are leftovers from my older son's birthday party and the tile letters are from Spare Parts. It is sort of difficult to see the title in the photo, but it can be viewed better by clicking on the photo. Journalling is on vellum cardstock and uses Comic Sans font. Thanks for looking! April

Stamp Something's March Digi Challenge

So here is my contribution to Stamp Something's challenge. I made this anniversary card for one of my BFFs. She loves Twilight as much as I do, so I made this one with the Greeting Farm's Dressy Edward and Dressy Camille digis. They are colored in watercolor pencils, then blended with SU's blending pen. I used Zig's two way glue pen to add glitter to Edward's tie and Bella's bow and shoes. The card base is 6 inches, with the layers cut at 5.5 and 5. The base color is retired SU Bordering Blue, then Basic Grey, and Whisper White. I stamped the swirls from Artful Inkables twilight set in Staz-On Dove Grey. I then spritzed with Sea Breeze Smooch and, once dry, added the bling. The sentiments are from Stampin Up's Congrats and Whimsical Words. The front sentiment is mounted on a wide oval and rounded punch. The ribbon is SU's Night of Navy. Inside, I used SU's scalloped border punch, a couple of gem brads and the wedding rings are from Hobby Lobby and are mounted with glue dots. Thanks for looking! April

Titanic

Here is my daughter's 3rd grade class Titanic Exhibit.

The LO is inspired by December 2010 pagemaps. The paper is from Recollections at Michael's and Bazzill cardstock. It is really hard to tell in the photo, but I used Tim Holtz masking stencils (clock and gears) and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch spritz to add a little character and shimmer to the bottom left corner of the page. It's faint, but it is there! I printed the journalling in Andalus and Algerian fonts, then used the pinking hearts border punch from EK Success and Stampin Up. The title and flourish are cut from black vinyl from George and Basic Shapes and Ashlyn's Alphabet fonts on the cricut. The flower is from Michael's Brides brand table confetti and cut apart and pieced together to make the larger flower and the center is a large black skittle. Thanks for looking! April

Boo-day Boy

I am finally back to scrapping and am so far behind, it's sad. This is my son's second birthday and is inspired by pagemaps. I have a hard time finding a way to utilize so many photos, but I like the simplicity of the LO.

The base is from a paper pack and the journalling is on vellum in Waltograph font. Most of the photos are cut to 3 3/4" square and the tilted photos are 4" square. The areas where the characters are on the left are supposed to have additional photos. I mounted a couple of the photos on dimensionals, as well as the characters. I also used a couple of Mickey head paper clips I got at the Disney parks. Characters are cut with the Mickey and Friends cricut cartridge. Thanks for looking! April
