Thanks, Doc

This is for MFT weekly sketch challenge #495.  I used a base of MFT Electric Red cardstock, with layers of Snow Cone and SN@P 24/7 pattern paper.  The image is from MFT BB Bedside Manner and colored in copic markers.  Thanks for looking!  April

Grad Thank Yous

My daughter is starting her senior year next month and we just finished senior photos.  Where has the time gone?  We are slowly planning her grad party for next June and starting to hoard items for the art theme.  She is planning on a major in Art Animation, so I wanted her thank you cards to reflect her interest.

The base is Whisper White with stamps from retired SU Extreme Elements and a Paper Pumpkin starter kit.  Inks are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Daffodil Delight for the primary and I overlapped them to get the secondary colors.  I added detail with the smaller splatter in Pumpkin Pie, Gumball Green, and Blackberry Bliss.  The sentiment is from retired SU SAB set and stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black.  I kept it a single layer for easier mailing.  I also stamped the envelopes to match.

Goodbye Hugs

Last month, we moved from Ohio to Wisconsin.  The hardest part was taking the kids from the people and schools they have grown to love over the last five years.  My youngest has special needs and we are particularly close with his teachers and assistants so I wanted a special goodbye for them.  I kinda feel like I was shorting them, but most of my craft supplies were packed and I was single-parenting for the better part of six weeks, so I was not at my most creative. 

I found these adorable hugging hearts on clearance at Ikea and grabbed some Hershey's Hugs, treat bags, chalkboard tags, and some baker's twine to make these.  I used a chalk marker to write "A Hug from Matt" and tied it all together.  The teachers were in tears and tried so hard to make it a great day for him.  We miss them so much and they have been great with helping his new teachers acclimate him to his new school routine.  Thanks for looking!  April

Latte Paper Pumpkin extra

More extras from July 2015 Thanks a Latte My Paper Pumpkin kit.  Inspiration for the card from Pinterest.  The base is bulk cards with layers of kraft and papers from SN@P.  The matching SU colors are Red Riding Hood and Baja Breeze.  I also used left over sequins from February 2016 Hello Sunshine kit and jute twine from a past kit.  I don't get to play with my crimping tool often enough and forget the great texture it adds.  This card was also a great way to use up some of the many, many extra glue dots and dimensionals often found in the kits.  Thanks for looking!  April

My Paper Pumpkin extras

I love finding the monthly Stampin' Up subscription for My Paper Pumpkin in my mailbox.  Even if I am not totally sold on some of the monthly projects, I love the supplies.  I normally find there are plenty of "spare parts" to make some extras.  Since our move, I only have the kitchen table to work at, so I tend to let the kits stack up for a bit then binge craft.  I was in desperate need of a restock of cards, so out comes the box holding several kits.  Since you can see the basic kit all over the web, I will feature the extras over the next few posts.  So, away we go...
I will admit, I am cheap.  While I love the quality of Stampin' Up cardstock, I love to buy bulk card base kits, especially for holiday cards.  They are a bit lighter weight, which is nice for postage, but the color is a bit different.  However, when you can get 50 cards and envelopes for $3.50, you deal with it.  The design is based on a card on Pinterst, found here.  This card base is from that bulk stock.  I used left overs pieces from the October 2014 Sweet as Pie kit and August 2014 Seriously Amazing, and stamps from February 2015 Layers of Gratitude inked in Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue and Soft Sky.  I stamped the envelope flap in the same pattern to match.  It took less than 30 minutes to make a stack of these and I still have some feathers left.  Thanks for looking!  April

Thanks card

These are two cards I made using the SU Sale-a-bration For Being You set.  Paper is Whisper White, Old Olive, and Echo Park Traveler paper.  The "thanks" is stamped in Versamark and black embossing powder.  Inks include Jet Black Staz-On and Lost Lagoon.  I also used a dollar alphabet set to add to the sentiment.  Last touch is some gemstones on the second card.  Quick and easy cards...the longest part was cutting out the letters and it took almost no time to figure out a pattern to make it go faster.  Thanks for looking!  April

December My Paper Pumpkin rewind

So I wanted to make some more cards from the awesome December My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I grabbed some of the blank pre-scored card from Hobby Lobby and started stamping.  These are a serious no brainer and great to keep in my stash for a fast teacher or friend gift.  The base stamp is the multiple greeting inked in Smoky Slate.  The upper layer sentiment is stamped in Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry (not pictured).  I used copic markers to color the bling to match the Stampin Up inks.  It took me less than 30 minutes to put together 25 cards.  I had to wait for the copic to set up a bit since I did not think of coloring them first.  Thanks for looking!  April

Wish Big gift set

This is a a gift set I put together as a teacher gift from the My Paper Pumpkin July set.  I like using the kits to put together gift packet for use at the end of the school year.  I used Pool Party, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White papers along with Blackberry Bliss and Pool Party inks.  The topper is cut from the Top Note die.  The bonus, I have tons of left over stars, even after I make a little tag gift set.  Thanks for looking!  April

Off the Chart Thanks

This card is made with a retired Stampin' Up set called Off the Chart and SN@P papers.  I stamped the chart in Jet Black staz-on and mounted it on a piece of Basic Black.  The SN@P papers coordinate with Smokey Slate, Baja Breeze, and Red Riding Hood.  I punched the banners from the banner punch from SU Sale-a-bration, mounting on Basic Grey baker's twine.  The glasses are metal charms from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio.  I inked the glasses in Jet Black staz-on and heated with a heat gun to set.  Thanks for looking!  April
