Grunge Rock birthday

Here is the gift I made from my son's friend. We did the usual candy and video rental gift card. The colors are Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Basic Black. I used the stamps in matching Poppy Parade ink. The inner layers were done separately with Poppy Parade and Jet Black Staz-On. I used the black smooch spritz, but it is really heavy...all that came from one squirt! Oh well. I layered the scalloped circle with 1 1/2 and 1 3/8 circles. I do have both the inset and the scalloped circle with dimensionals.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update, but my laptop has been off for repairs for more than 2 weeks - monitor blew, DVD drive wouldn't work, power cord shot, etc...it was just sad. (moment of silence) Okay, I am working on end of the year teacher's gifts, so here is part one!

This is one of SU's current "In Color" Poppy Parade. I took an 8.5x9" piece of cardstock and scored it at 2 3/4 and 6 3/8 allong the 9" side. Then cut them into three sections along the 8.5" side. (Because I wanted to fit them inside a pop top can, I cut them at 2.5 instead of evenly splitting.) Next, I used the word window punch to make the slot. (Hint, the card is bigger, so use your gift card as a template, punch once, then slide your punch over and punch the extra.) Next, I embossed the opposite end with the polka dot embossing plate just up to the score line. Then I used a little bit of snail adhesive along the edge of the slot to close the slotted tab. Next, punch a scalloped circle and 1 3/8" circle in Whisper White and a 1 1/2" circle in a left over piece of Poppy Parade. The sentiment is from the Sale a Bration flyer and is stamped in Staz-On Jet Black. Layer all pieces as shown and used one or two dimensionals on the left side (under the "t"). Close up the card and place the scalloped circle piece. Your embossed flap should be able to slide out from under the scallop. There you have it! Look for the matching cans coming soon! hundred-acre halloween

Here is my youngest 2008 Halloween LO. The sketch is based on this weeks Creative Scrappers design.

The papers are Booville and Stampin Up's retired Bold Brights - Lovely Lilac and Green Galore. I love cut outs, but never seem to have the mojo to use them. Here is the scalloped circle, then I followed the sketch for the photos, then punched various sizes of circles from the coordinating printed sheets. The title is cut from cricut Pooh and San Serif. I added some black Stickles to the Halloween, then mounted the "hundred-acre" on dimensional. I made a bow out of some leftover ribbon, then sewed a little charm to it before tying it to the button and using glue dots to adhere. Thanks for looking! April

This LO is inspired by a May 2010 pagemaps. I just love that site! Go check it out. There is always something and I don't feel like it is cookie cutter like the CTMH books.

The papers are standard cardstock and Recollections Rockets and Sprockets. I also have the matching stamps...aren't they too cute?!?!? I used the bubble border punch from EK Success. Images are all colored in watercolor pencil, then blended with SU's blending pen and embellished with a white gel pen and Sukura stardust pen. The are all adhered with dimensionals. Font is Almagro and the chipboard is Basic Grey and inked with SU's Taken with Teal. I used adhesive and mini glue dots to make the ribbon bumps. Thanks for looking! April

I know, two posts in one day. I am posting as I get them done, so hang with me! I love to see my son's face when he laughs...he is very expressive!

The base is Chocolate Chip and the patterned paper is Bo Bunny's Shabby Princess line. A lot of it is school themed. All the pieces are cut at 2.5". The patterned papers have Bo Bunny boy-themed rub-ons. The blue is Bo Bunny Back to Basics and punched with EK Success border punch. The ribbon is Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy. The stickers are Bo Bunny and coordinate with the Shabby Princess. Once everything was in place, I ran it in my sewing machine. Last, I added the matching brads. Simple, but cute. Thanks for looking!
