Elf in Quartine

Because its 2020, and I really didn't want to think up 24 days of Elf mischief, I made an Elf Containment Unit so our Elf could observe but stay safely quarantined.  The container is a Jiff Peanut Butter jar.  I used Cricut Design Space to create the words and uploaded a biohazard sign and snowflakes.  It says ELF SURVEILLANCE QUARANTINE ZONE.  I added some foam snow inside to make it feel more like home.  His hat kept catching on the lid and spinning him, so it took a few tries to keep him front and center.  Last, I added some construction washi tape around the lid to warn anyone away from opening it.  Thanks for looking!  April

Baymax First Aid Kit

Our youngest received this cute first aid box from a local children's hospital and it was pretty boring with a sticker on the front.  I promised I would make his own special kit.  I found a cute Baymax image and imported it into Cricut Design Space, using contour to fill in the image.  I also made the title, cutting it all in vinyl.  I found the pain scale and used the print and cut feature after adding Baymax's quote.  I laminated the pain scale before gluing it inside the lid.  Thanks for looking!  April

Vinyl water bottle labels

We are prepping for a trip to Disney World and I wanted to get the kids some simple water bottles.  The parks happily provide free ice water but I wanted to keep spilling to a minimum.  The bottles were $1.99 and 40% off at Hobby Lobby.  At that price, if they break or get lost, I will not be upset.  I love the lids and they have rubber gaskets.  I used the Cricut Craft Room and made Avenger icons for the older kids before adding their names.  Maggie picked Iron Man's Arc Reactor, Alex picked Hawkeye's target, and Matt picked...Mickey.  (If you know Matt, he's all about the mouse). 
A little tip: use clear contact paper from the Dollar Tree as transfer tape.  (It's sold as book cover in the school supplies.)  Cheaper than buying Disney brand bottles but the kids get original Disney-themed fun.  Thanks for looking!  April

Grape Soda Ellie Badge

My hubby and I are looking forward to going on the Disney Vacation Club Member's Cruise in August.  I wanted to make some fun swaps/fish extender gifts and this is the first...the Ellie Badge from Disney/Pixar's Up.

I purchased a 24 pack of bottle caps from Hobby Lobby (on sale, of course).  I used a nail to make holes in the cap.  With the large safety pin, I found about six bumps in the cap apart is enough to be able to thread the pin.  I found the Grape Soda graphics here and punched with my 1inch circle punch.  I used a little mod podge to attach to the bottle cap.  Once dry, I very used Liquid Glass to make a sealed, glossy cap.  The trick to it is to make a circle around the edge of the image, then fill.  Use the nozzle to drag liquid and be sure to not shake or suck much air into the bottle.  Once it sets up, about 24 hours, depending thickness, it is a hard glossy epoxy finish.  I found it easier to thread the pin first, using it to hold the cap in place while I covered the image.
Next, I found these great phone wallpaper images of the Up characters here.  I put them in a word doc and pushed them to the background.  I typed the sentiment on top, then printed nine cards per sheet on cardstock.  (It says: Congratulations!  I bestow upon you the highest honor for a fellow Adventurer...the Ellie Badge)  I cut them out and used a glue dot to attach pins and slipped them into mini zip baggies, ready to give.  Thanks for looking!  April

Quick & cute Snowman nuggets

We also made these little guys at our monthly stamp club.  They are Hershey's nuggets wrapped with little strips of paper (or you can use printer labels) and hand drawn faces.  The hats are made by cutting off the fingers from knit stretchy gloves.  You can find 2 pairs for $1 at Dollar Tree.  Just roll the finger down to shape into a hat, then attach to the nugget with a glue dot or piece of sticky tape. 
This would be an excellent kids craft.  Pre-cut the gloves apart and give them the pieces.  So cute and you can make a bunch in no time.  Thanks for looking!  April

Cookie Monster Birthday Treats

My baby turned 7 yesterday...oh, where has the time gone?  He has developmental delays and has just finally fallen in love with Sesame Street.  He also loves cookies and m&m's, so when we found the m&m cookies at Sam's Club, I thought they would be perfect for his class-shared treat.
I used the Tim Holtz ornamental die to cut kraft paper and folded in half.  I used the Cricut to cut the scalloped circles at 1 3/4" from Mini Monograms on blue cardstock.  The eyes are punched from 3/4" circles on Whisper White.  The pupils and mouths are cut from Basic Black using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge at 1/4" circles and 1 1/2" ovals.  I punched the cookies from 1 1/2" circle on kraft, using a sharpie to make the "chips".  I used the scalloped circle punch to make the bite out of each, before mounting with a dimensional.  I used the SMASH tape on the base and a cheap dollar stamp for the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink.  I attached the topper with a staple. 
Considering that I put together 30 of these, they were quick to assemble.  I highly recommend using a glue pen on the small pupils, but the rest was fine to assemble with a SNAIL-type adhesive.  Thanks for looking!  April

Breaking Dawn Bookmark

Happy Breaking Dawn!!!!  In celebration of the new movie, I decided to make bookmarks for my daughter and her friends.  These are stamped with stamps from Artful Inkables Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired.  I backed them with Chocolate Chip cardstock and Tattered Time photo mats from DCWV.  The top of the bookmark is a decorative label punch folded in half, then set with a jumbo eyelet and threaded with ribbon.  Super fast and cute!  Be sure to come back and see more Twilight-inspired projects this week!  Thanks for looking!  April

digi doodles

These are the digis I printed when I was working on the kids little coloring books.  I was trying to figure out how to get them in the books, but it would distort the binding too much, so I used some scraps, a couple of extra large eyelets, and some key rings to make little mini books I can toss in the car for entertaining the kids while out and about.  Super quick and easy little thing and easily refillable!  Thanks for looking!  April

Monkey Man t-shirt

Here is the Monkey Man shirt I made for my three-year-old. He likes to make monkey sounds and we call him Monkey Man, so I found the cutest monkey stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's. Again, I used Timber Staz-On and slipped a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to keep it from leaking through. I also found this cute swinging monkey stamp and put it on the shirt-tail for a cute view from behind. I am still debating about using the vine stamp on the sleeves in Green Staz-On, but I think it would be too much. Thanks for looking! April

Matt's Bday decos and cheap recycle

So I am cleaning up before the in-laws arrive and still stewing about Matt's birthday decorations...husband is on a penny-pinching streak. I don't need to buy the fancy printed stuff, but give me a little. I found cute Halloween themed plates with spiders, so I thought I would cut Mickey spiders for the cups. Of course, I don't have the DS yet, so I punched the Mickey icon from the Cricut vinyl and used a sharpie to make legs. I planned on purchasing the clear plastic cups so the punch would show through, but during my cleaning process, I found these yellow cups that were left over from my college grad party (almost 5 years ago!). We are not having a huge amount of people, so why not? I guess yellow could go for fall and Halloween, right? I am thinking about adding some inking, but I am not going to get carried away over a cup. Anyway, thanks for looking and I will try to post my other Halloween card I am working on during nap later today. T minus 6 hours before the in-laws arrive! April

Halloween Birthday

Here are Matt's goody bags...I found these so cute bags at Walmart for a quarter each. I saw the little ghost and knew he was perfect. All he needed was a pair of mouse ears! I used my Mickey sillouette punch to make the ears then used a little white gel pen to highlight. The name tags are made from a Michael's $1 bin stamp and I think they are just great. Colors are SU!'s Basic Black and Basic Gray. Some orange ribbon adds a finishing touch. So easy and festive!

I also used the tombstone for tags on pencils my daughter is giving her class. I just stamped, cut and tied on. Very cute!

More vinyl!

Wow! I am on a roll this week! I am trying to get as many mini projects done and out of the way while summer is flying by. Hope you enjoy the newest project. I will be back to scrapping soon!

Well, here is some more uses for the wall pops and vinyl. I am on a roll. Still have to get pics of the kids doors, but I am waiting until I get the Transformer face done on my son's door. Here are the pics of the new water jugs I picked up for the kids. These are $1.47 each at Walmart. They are kinda cute and Maggie needed a water bottle for camp. I am pretty sure that no one can miss who's bottle that is.

For the pink bottle: Cut flower at 3 inches from the George cartridge. Cut name at 2.5 inches from Jasmine. For the blue bottle: Cut name with shadow at 3.5 inches and again without shadow from Stamped cartridge. Remember, these are tacky and will stick and wear through getting wet. Just be sure the outside of the bottle is clean and dry when you stick them on.
