Grunge birthday

This was for my daughter's 14th birthday.  I used a kraft base with layers of Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.  The images are from Grunge Rock and Extreme Elements.  Inks are Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade, Purely Pomegrante, and Basic Gray.  The guitar is mounted on dimensionals.  The number 14 is Tim Holtz grungeboard, inked in Tempting Turquoise and spritzed with Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine.  Thanks for looking!  April

Cat in the Hat card

This is for my daughter's birthday.  It's hard to believe she is 14.  (My oldest boy just turned 11 this month as well.)  The base is Whisper White with layers of Basic Black and blue SN@P paper.  TIP:  Did you know the blue SN@P paper is equal to Baja Breeze from SU?  The ink matches perfectly!  I used the wide oval punch and the 1 1/2" circle punch to make the hat in Real Red and Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the retired SU set Smarty Pants and is inked in Baja Breeze and Red Riding Hood, then punched out with the decorative label punch and matted on Basic Black.  I added a little touch of white gel pen detailing on the hat and a black baker's twine bow on the sentiment.  Thanks for looking!  April

I {heart} U card

This is for my stamp club monthly swap.  I got the idea from Pinterest.  Colors are Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red.  I used a bit of black baker's twine to hide the seam in the embossing folder.  The letters are cut from Cricut's Base Camp cartridge.  The heart is from SU's triple heart punch.  I left the inside blank so it could be used for Valentine's, Anniversary, or Love card.  Super easy and four cards took less than 30 minutes.  Thanks for looking!  April

Steampunk SMASH

This is a SMASH page I made using some of the parts from the October My Paper Pumpkin.  I mentioned in another post that I ran the chipboard through a Tim Holtz die.  Here is the dressmaker dummy decorated with paper from DCWV.  I made a corset and added crochet lace trim and an embroidery floss bow.  The background papers are also DCWV from the Timless and Performance mat stacks.  I used a doily and kraft tag along with Tim Holtz stickers for the title.  I also used some Tim Holtz gears, tickets, word stick, and keyhole.  Thanks for looking!  April

Oreo birthday card

This is for a friend's birthday.  I found the idea on pinterest and tweaked it a bit.  I used scalloped circle and classic circle nestabilities with SU Whisper White cardstock and dark brown from Bazzill.  I also used the third classic oval nestabilities for the title and stamped that with versamark and heat embossed in white.  Inside, I used a retired SU congratulations set stamped in Early Espresso.  I used a small black brad for the hinge to twist the cookie and mounted it on a base of Pumpkin Pie with layer of retired SU designer paper from Eat Cake.  Thanks for looking!  April

App Happy SMASH

I love my kindle fire.  I will admit I spend as much time playing games and looking for new books as I do actually reading.  These are my favorites...

Read 2014 SMASH

After last year's page got a little overloaded, I decided to simplify this year's reading page.  I used letters from 7gypsies for the title.  I also have hearts punched in cherry.  The library cards are stamped in Not Quite Navy using Lawn Fawn's Check It Out.

Also, here is a pic of the finished 2013 Read page.  I read 121 books in 2013.  You can see the post here.  Thanks for looking!  April

Favorite Poet SMASH

Robert Frost is my favorite poet.  I have been a fan since I read SE Hinton's The Outsiders in middle school.  I showed you one of the pages I did way back in August, but finally got around to finishing the others.  Nothing Gold Can Stay is on the back of Fire & Ice, and next to the title page when closed.  I did pages for Fire & Ice, The Road Not Taken, and one featuring the man himself and why I like him.  I will be honest and say I don't really like the way Fire & Ice came out.  The flames just are not working for me and the ice part on top is hard to see.  Oh well, we can't do it perfect all the time.  I do really like my design for The Road.  I used copics to create the stone path.  I was going to add a figure on the road, but after rereading the poem, decided it would detract from the meaning.  The title page is just photos I found online and chipboard letters from Tim Holtz and 7gypsies.  Thanks for looking!  April

Love card

This is another altered project from the December My Paper Pumpkin.  I used the extra wood people and some of the black cheveron paper with Real Red to make this anniversary card.  The sentiment is from January's MPP kit and is heat embossed in white.  The cut out is the end of the decorative label punch.  The heart is from the retired heart trio punch.  Inside is stamped with the retired congratulations set in Real Red.  A fast and easy card!  More to come soon.  Thanks for looking!  April

October My Paper Pumpkin alternative

I decided I really didn't care for the note roll holder from the October MPP.  I searched out pinterest ideas and have been working on some ideas.  I used the wood grain chipboard with my Tim Holtz dressmaker dummy die and the thread spool is part of the die.  I used a embossed paper from DCWV Timeless mat stack to cover a mini composition book.  I love the tape measures all over the paper.  Next is a piece of the rolled paper stamped with one of the images from the October MPP kit.  I used some paper flowers with the special in-color freebies from the January MPP kit, as well as the Calypso Coral baker's twine from the October kit to wind on the spool.  All are attached with glue dots.  The spine is sealed with washi tape and the note paper is attached with SU's Season of Style washi.  More projects from this kit coming soon.  Thanks for looking!  April

December My Paper Pumpkin

Sorry I have been MIA, but I was sick through a good chunk of January...bronchitis stinks!  It took me nearly three weeks to get somewhat back to normal.  Then, started all the glorious snow days!  You know that kids at home means no fun in the craft room for us moms.  We are now more than six weeks since the kids went to school five days in a row.  Ugh!
I decided to make the mini SMASH book like the directions, but I raided a few pages and stickers for other projects I will post later.  I also made some extra stamped images that came with the kit and have them ready to mount on glue dots.  I packaged it as a gift for one of my teen daughter's friends.  Thanks for looking!  April
