With Love from the Kitchen

Here is one of my middle chil d helping make cupcakes.  It was the first time he expressed interest in making something in the kitchen, so we had to have pics.
The base is Marina Mist with layers of Recollections kitchen collection, Summer Sun, and a retired green from the bold brights.  The title image is a stamp from All Night Media, colored with copics and mounted on Summer Sun that was cut and embossed with a nestabilities classic square, and mounted with dimensionals.  The flags are made with the decorative label punch from SU, stamped with TGF's splotchy and Hello backgrounds in Tim Holtz distress inks.  I folded them in half over the baker's twine, then sealed them with adhesive and placed a punch heart in red on each.  It is held in place with a courduroy brad and the end with the bow is attached with a tiny drop of liquid glass.  The journalling is done with the SMASH labeler.  The image is TGF's cupcake Anya colored in copic markers, and accents of liquid glass to make her tongue, hairband, shoes and cherry shine.  She is also mounted with dimensionals.  Thanks for looking!  April

Shoe-tying 101

I thought I caught every moment of my oldest kid's life...I was wrong!  I never got a pic of her learning to tie her own shoes.  I was so tickled when I was searching though a stack of my son's pics to catch up his book and found this...
The layout is based on a pagemaps from March 2012.  The base is Whisper White with layers of School Cool DP, Real Red, and a photo-copied piece of lined paper.  The stip of writing guide was bought at my local scrap store before we moved.  There is a single zig-zag stitch done on my sewing machine.  The title is cut from the open book nestabilities die then the lettering is from the Martha Stewart double-sided sticky alphabet, coated in red glitter.  The shoe stickers are from Jolene's.  The journalling is made with the newest label tool from SMASH by K & Co.

Disney Music SMASH

So TGF's Chat Night at SCS was this past Friday and this month's theme was "I've Got the Music In Me."  The three challenges include 1) Favorite Song, 2) Favorite Music Video, and 3) Favorite Lyric.  I love so many songs and my favorite is constantly changing, so I decided to focus on one of my favorite genres...Disney.  Who doesn't love at least one Disney song?  Seriously, I think everyone learns "It's a Small World" in preschool and I absolutely remember my kindergarten teacher playing "Winnie the Pooh" on the piano while we all sang along.
This SMASH page is a top 10 of my black SMASH book.  I added the "my" and "songs" using Martha Stewart double-sided sticky alphabet roll I found on clearance at Michael's.  You peel, stick, pick off the top layer and use glitter, flocking, or metallic transfer.  Here, I used my black and light blue glitters.  The "Disney" is from Cricut's Mickey Font and cut at 1 1/2" on printed music paper.  I typed the titles using Waltograph font from dafont.com and the movie titles are fonts on my computer and from Creating Keepsakes.  The images are from The Greeting Farm's Fairy Princess, My Guy Ian, and Miss Anya Lounge sets and colored in copic.  The fairy has some spica and glitter gel pen on the wings.  The mouseketeers are wearing ears cut from a Mickey icon punch that is punched at the edge of the page, creating a hat.  Did you see my favorite new tissue tape?!?!  I found it at Archiver's this weekend and it is made by Queen & Co.

Update:  I won one of the three TGF Chat & Challenge Night challenges!  Woohoo!

I Can See

So here is another one of my catch-up pages.  This is my middle child getting his first glasses last year.
The base is Reminisce's What's Up Doc? with Recollections green argyle.  The lettering is Cricut's Base Camp.  The border is EK Success's spiral notebook.  Last is a bit of twine.  Quick and simple.  Thanks for looking!  April

Dad

Wow, posts two days in a row...who would have thought!  So this is for TGF's Farm Fresh Challenge masculine; Anyone for Anya's stitching; Deconstructed Sketch Number 55; and Pixie Dust Studio's patterned paper challenges.  Now, normally I would do a PDS image for one of their challenges, but I will be gone for the weekend and was a little pressed for time, so here we are.
The base is Always Artichoke with layers of Bo Bunny Shabby Princess School Spirit papers, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron.  The image is TGF's Wild Sprout Jeremy and is stamped on Whisper White with Jet Black Staz-On, then trimmed and mounted with dimensionals.  The layer he is mounted on is also mounted with dimesionals to give the ribbon some extra room.  The ribbon is SU's Early Espresso grosgrain and attached with Tim Holtz tiny attacher mini staples.  The sentiment is stamped from a dollar alphabet from Michael's, then punched out using the side of the decorative label punch from SU.  I added a couple of mini brads.  There is stitching around the base patterned paper and zig zag along the blue strip.

Kissy Wedding

I am back!  Honestly, I will probably be spending more time desperately trying to catch up the kids scrapbooks, but I couldn't resist doing this card.  I am the plus one for my BFF to her friend's wedding, of which she is a bridesmaid.  Her colors are pink, purple and yellow, as part of a beach-y theme.  I am also entering it in TGF's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge
The base is Whisper White cut at 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" with layers of Pawsitively Prints and Wisteria Wonder from SU.  The border is lacy scallop from Martha Stewart.  The image is TGF's Kissy Kissy digi, colored with copic markers and spica pen, then mounted with dimensionals.  A secret for clean edges when you cut out your image is...use a non-bleeding liner pen to color over the edges.  Super simple, but does take a little time.  The ribbon is white organza and I used a bit of white baker's twine to sew the little love charm.  My use something old from my stash is the wedding rings.  I love them and found them ages ago, but have only used them once, leaving the rest to sit and collect dust.  What a shame!
The inside sentiment is from SU's Word Play and says "Happy I Do Day!"
Sorry if the photo is a little wonky...my new craft room has flourescent lighting and no windows.  I just got my first Ott light and used it for the pic, but the combo of the two different lighting is something I am still working the kinks out of.
Thanks for sticking by me during the move and for looking!  Your comments keep my creating!  April
